Hmm, very interesting. I personally think it has a good shot at success, if nothing more than create awareness of a post secondary education.
I wonder if this will be the new way to recruit new military types as well.
San Francisco State University is joining at least six other colleges that are using popular social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook to appeal to a generation of digital age students.
The social sites are more flexible than traditional university home pages because they can be easily updated with photos, videos and seasonal application information by admissions counselors. And they are attractive to students who already spend hours on the sites communicating with friends and want to connect with other students going to colleges they are interested in.
