Best Buy had it for $500 back in Sept. If the 12700K matches it or comes close, I expect the price to drop more.

If these go down to $450 in Dec. after we get Alder Lake, I'm upgrading all of my main rigs...

I'll probably pick one up if they hit $450. I've already got the motherboard. Be stuck using a 1080Ti for a while.

I'm not sure why you'd be stuck with a GTX 1080ti.......Newegg has plenty of RX 6900XT cards in stock......with several of the models being the lowest price in 30 days (and free shipping no less)!!!!!

They might just be a TAD over MSRP though. :p ;)

My other choices would be RX580 or GTX 1070. I saw 4 cards(6900XT) on newegg for between $1000-$1100 but they're out of stock - don't know if they actually come in stock or just sit there as placeholders. I've been watching the shuffle for a 3080 at $850 max or a 6800XT at $800. Can't spend money in retirement like I used to when working. Also worried that pandemic pricing will become the baseline for next generations.

You're at near RTX 3070 performance, why call that stuck? Unless you need 3080+ or ray tracing, I'd still be happy with this card.
I looked up the original price of a 1080Ti - $699! Seemed so much a few years ago, now it's nothing, lol.

I paid about $650 for mine (from Massdrop), regret only buying 1. My biggest concern is age of the card - it's seen a lot of usage and if it fails, I don't have anything comparable -occasional glitches.

Aren't these only about 3 years old? I have video cards that are way older than this, and still work fine. Maybe they used crappy caps on the board or something like that...

Getting closer. Another $35 off and I'll grab one.

$470 at MC, if you combine with $20 off with mobo, and add 5% off on your MC CC, I think you are there...
I'm really tempted as I went for the 5800X back when supply was low (and price high), but I really wanted the 5900X. The problem now is that I would wind up with an extra CPU (actually just a 5600X, if I upgrade my other system to the 5800X as well, nice trickle down effect), but I would likely have to take a loss on the remaining 5600X, I don't see getting too much more than $200 for it... But then again, I see the 5600X for $250 at MC, hmmm, thinking, theoretically 2 UPGRADES for just potentially $220 or slightly less...
