Ryzen DDR4 Confusion

So it seems like there are a lot of conflicting posts/videos about Ryzen and 3200mhz RAM.

Some say as long as you buy Samsung B-Die you should be fine, others say they have b-die and are still unable to get their RAM to reach its core speed. Others say non b-die works just fine.

Are there known B350/X370 MoBo/RAM combos that work for 3200mhz RAM?

Was looking at the MSI B350 Tomahawk. On the MSI forums, they have staff saying that speeds over 2400mhz aren't attainable at the moment for this board.

Am I better off just buying some verified 2400mhz? Don't want to dish out the extra cash for 3200mhz just to run it at lower speeds.

Thanks,

For what it is worth, I would buy Samsung B-Die based for now.
However, with all the new BIOS updates, more & more RAM should be able to reach 3200MHz just fine.

There was some new info from AMD on this just yesterday -- https://www.forbes.com/sites/antony...performance-and-ryzen-3s-launch/#5f97c455ff43

There's quite a bit of info there, but one takeaway is that (James Prior, product manager for Ryzen says that) memory compatibility is slightly better with X370 mobos than B350 mobos -- "it’s really only the B350 chipset motherboards that we’re seeing this hit and miss memory support." But you should read the whole article -- the two guys from AMD touch on a bunch of things about memory.

lol I guess he hadn't experienced the Asus Prime X370 at all. The latest BIOS went from hit n' miss to pretty much all misses.

RAM support is really good if you want to pay 50% more for your DIMMs.
