Was wondering when we would see some current gen price cuts, ahead of the next gen chips.
$269.99, boxed, with cooler, and Microcenter is still giving $30 off on a compatible motherboard. In-store only. Usually there is a Retail me not coupon around good for 5 bucks or so at Microcenter.

why would they lower the price before the next chip comes out? so they can lower it even more then? Just wait if your going to wait, 270 isnt a hot price i got mine for 250 and regret it, should have bought a 9600k instead but hopefully ryzen 3000 will be so wonderful and ill switch to that.

This is the best deal I see right now on the 2700X chip. Most sellers are at $300+.

I kind of agree with you. Recommended Ryzen 5 2600(X) to a 1080P gamer. That would be a big jump from a weak SATA2 uATX board struggling with an FX 8350. Plus there is an upgrade path if the next gen chips are attractive. He is determined to get the Ryzen 7 2700X (and doesn't want Intel).

yea well i was thinking the same thing, then after i started encoding h265 and playing a few games i thought.. boy this ryzen 3000 better be good or im going to wish i went with the 9900k i been thinking of so much. 270 isnt a great price but prob wont go alot less than 250 since they have so many cpu each one will need to drop. I still say get the 9600k instead. stock 2700x does havve a pretty fan tho heheh and not from evvil intel.. just wish we had real numbers on that mythical ryzen 3. Maybe intel will have a 10,000k chip soon hehehe revision 5 with 200mhz more and less power bla bla..
