What's the "regular price" on these, I haven't really been folowing or interested in the 5800X. $389?

If so, then some savings. Is it worthwhile to pick one of these up now, or after the firesale after Intel's Alder Lake 12400 @ $200-220 price range just totally devastates AMD's lineup, LOL. 'Cause compared to that CPU (12400), these are still WAY overpriced. But release date of the 12400 isn't until Q1 2022. Decisions, decisions.

They've been floating around $380 - $400 for most retailers for a while now, with a few short sales taking them to the $365 - $370 range at times.

meh, I don’t see that happening so much as normal price adjustments for what will be nearly two year old (18 month?) CPUs and you’ll still need to be able to find boards and those actual CPUs (and boards, and probably DDR5?) in stock. Given the chip situation and focus on OEMs and the lack of stock/good pricing IRL of the 10400 and 11400 around their launches… it’s just not gonna happen then.

To me it’s really the extra cache Zen 3s that stand to displace some 5800x cpus

Semi regularly I see this priced used on CL so some $300 ones should be available soon.

The 5600G already has a better GPU at $200 and if you are OK with only six cores then with CPU should be fine 🤷‍♂️
