For those of us with game pass, that's another $10 savings.

So this beats the 12100F? Cheaper than 12400F, by a bit. Plus cheaper AM4 mobo.
Definitely.

I have been seeing some killer deals on feature packed B550 and x570 from highly reputable sellers on Ebay lately. Most are refurbs with 120-365 day warranties, board only. Some are used/working pulls. But as little as $115 gets you beefy VRMs, 2.5Gbps LAN, AX wifi, BT5.x, USB-C front header on some. About the only things you miss out on, are power and reset buttons on the board, and LED diagnostic panels. Certainly won't have to spend beyond meh! B660 money.

If you are on game pass, it is $150+tax. No way anything else is going to give you the features and performance for a better price.

As to the hurr durr AMD and Intel have their new stuff out by year's end. Who cares? By the time this thing struggles in gaming, the upcoming CPUs will be last gen or more likely still, older. And what will pricing look like? When will the value CPUs like this hit retail? This deal is here, now, and is going to make for a outstanding price performance gaming build. And if it one click overclocks the way my 5600g did, it is an even more gangbusters value.

More research on the 5600 from newegg. All of the Zen 3 5600 come with B2 stepping. There is not a large sample size on CPU benchmark but some submissions have 4.8ghz clocks locked in. That is good news and good to see. It looks as if the 5600 gets the very latest 7nm process. I didn't include the screen shot from newegg reviews showing B2 stepping on CPU-z. Below is just info on what the B2 stepping does for Zen 3.

Hmm, I checked the 5700G I got from MC at the end of February, was still stepping 0 :(

Would have bought it if it was anywhere but newegg, but newegg can go to hell after they stole $30 from me. Ugh if only amazon offered price matching.

I am kind of stoked for the 5600. After more research the 5600x samples on CPU-Benchmark show turbo clocks at 4.7-4.75ghz max speed during testing (only a few). The 5600 is still a small sample size but there are quite a few @ 4.7-4.8ghz max speed. There has been at least one that had 4.9ghz but it didn't show correctly in the bios. Most are either 3200mhz on the ram with a handful of 3600mhz ram speeds.

AMD has said B2 stepping simply improves manufacturing efficiencies and has no real world difference in performance, speed, temps or overclocking. Obviously they would say that because they have old inventory to sell. The 5600 by default seems to be all B2 because it's a new model (SKU).

I will be shooting for 4.8ghz and my ram is E-die (Micron) 16-19-16-16 @3800mhz. I guess these chips only need 1.2v which is crazy considering my 3600 needs (1.4v)

The 5600x stock is max boost 4.6ghz while the 5600 is 4.4ghz max boost.

Wow, I wish they would release a 5950X refresh. Though these can already pass 5GHz, it would be awesome if a newer stepping on them could produce even better clocks.

My 5600 arrived today. So far I have 4.9ghz @ 1.4v. These chips are all on the B2 stepping. I am doing some testing. I think I will go with 4.8ghz @1.35v. I already knew the 5600 was not using the best silicon AMD has. 4.9ghz crashed with stress testing @ 1.4v but booted and ran fine without stress. The older AMD chips used to hit the wall like a brick. At least the 5600 will boot @ 4.9ghz, but I think that is the wall. I think it will need more voltage to boot @ 5ghz if that is possible with these chips.

Heck, I'd be happy with 4.8GHz all core. That's easily enough to make it the clear choice in its price bracket.

After running stability testing 4.8ghz is up to 1.375v. Big (20-30fps) improvement with triple monitor setup for X-plane 11. I run that @ 1080p where Zen 3 really does well vs. Zen 2. I think Zen 3 runs warmer than Zen 2 and probably tops out hotter as well. It seems like it's +4 or 5C doing desk work with video and a Web based game or two running vs. Zen 2. I really like it. Remember, I am re-homing my 3600 to my backup system that has an old R3 1200 Zen.

"Overall, the leaker's sources have indicated the IPC gain could be has high as 24 percent over Zen 3. Breaking that down, they say Zen 4's single-threaded performance will be in the range of 28-37 percent higher than Zen 3, and that multi-threaded gains could be even higher with goosing the all-core boost clocks on its Ryzen 7000 series CPUs."

So don't go out and buy stuff unless you have a board. If AMD has their end of life AM4 bundle deals. Obviously that would change my opinion.

You would think. The 5600 tops out at 4850mhz on PBO for most people. The 7600X says it boost to 5.3mhz. Retail for the 7600X is $300.

4800-4850mhz bootable but not stable. 4.7ghz is max OC that will complete Cinebench all core and single core. The PC doesn't crash but the benchmark crashes. You can game @ 4.8ghz on a 5600, but it will eventually crash after hours of gaming.

I think things could get very interesting in the next few months with Zen 3 and AM4 motherboard bundle deals. Crazy fire sale pricing happened with Zen + after Zen 2 was released. In my opinion the most desirable chips would be the 5700x and 5900x. I doubt they will do any crazy deals on the 5950x.

I agree!

If only I hadn't just built a couple of 5900X rigs. (One was built a year ago, and needs rebuilding, as it was crashing.)
