Solved! Ryzen 3000 memory 3600 under $140 found 2 please help me decide

I must return my Corsair 3200 memory that I have due to errors. It happens and one bad module won't put me off to a company.

If I am replacing it anyway I thought why not bump the speed a little as I have been seeing reports that AMD is more influenced by frequency over timings and for a little more I can get 3600 over the 3200, but it would most likely be at CAS 18 or 17 XMP as the cost is just way out of my price range for faster.

I have found 2 16gb kits that claim they are compatible with my motherboard (x570).

The first at $120 is CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3600 CMK16GX4M2B3600C18

2nd at $125.

Adata XPG SPECTRIX D41 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600 (AX4U360038G17-DT41

I don't care about RGB one way or the other.

Which at this price point would you pick that is in-stock, as I have to get them now , or would you pick an entirely different kit?

The Corsair set is CAS 18, and the GSkill set is CAS 17. That's relatively loose timings.

I would personally find a set that rated at CAS 15 or 16 for about the same price. You didn't say what your motherboard was, but companies like Crucial, GSkill, Corsair, Adata, and Kingston all have "RAM finder" tools on their websites.

It looks like people are buying up all the Samsung B-Die memory since Samsung stopped making it in June. This is making any with that module either hard to find or expensive.
It's an X570 Gigabyte Elite board.
I used the memory finders to get these two along with Gigabytes official support list that this A-data kit is not on, but it's on A-Datas site as compatible with my board..
There is a kit with Micron E-Die for $150 that is CAS 16, but I have been reading that many are having issues getting it to run at the XMP speed.

I'm not aware of this since I don't have a X570 motherboard, but maybe someone here has some input on that.

Getting the RAM a little cheaper might involve waiting for a good sale at places like Newegg or Ratuken, but it's possible to get a CAS 15 or 16 kit in the $120 - $130 price range. I checked the various manufacturer websites, and since the X570 chipset is so new, the kits they have certified to properly work with that chipset, is still rather small.

That said, if you need the RAM immediately, why not spend the extra $25 on something you are going to likely have for a while? I'm just saying, if I was in your situation, I'd watch for a good sale, otherwise I would spend the extra to get the better RAM kit.

It is CAS 14 RAM, and from this memory scaling review, something like DDR 3200 at CAS14 is pretty comparable to the faster kits with looser timings, so that could be an option to consider.

I think that my GSkill DDR4-3600 16GB (2x8GB) kit "for AMD" has CAS 22 timings. It was $115 on sale, with RGB. I did wonder about the timings being so loose, though.

Newegg always seems to have 3200/CL14 kit (2x8GB) for ~$125. Those are 100% B-die.

The first Corsair set should be b-die, and not sure about the Adata set. Some says it's Nanya, but not 100% sure. So, between those two, I would go with Corsair.

Also, the Corsair set is on many QVL, including some X570 mobo. I know it means close to nothing, but at least some mfg's tested the kit and confirmed working at XMP. That's at least minimum guarantee as we all know XMP and Ryzen are not the best friends. That exact Adata set on the other hand is not on any of QVL I can find of.

That's the kit I posted yesterday (after it had already sold out). It looks like it's back in stock, and like you said, seems like a great kit for Ryzen builds.

I ended up picking up the A-Data 3600 listed above.
I was pleasantly surprised to see they were Samsung B-Dies.
So far I ran memtest for over an hour running at 3600 and no errors.
I will run the test overnight tonight at XMP speeds and if everything goes well start playing with the timings.

This memory is great. I am able to tune it to the point that Membench easy is 116 and the best possible it says is 108 (lower is better).
Although I have the tCL set to 15 my motherboard refuses to use that and makes it 16. 14 doesn't work, but I am able to get tRCDWR, tRCRDR and tRP all set to 15 and tRAS to 28.
I tweaked a bunch of other settings as well and it is completely stable at 3600. I changed it to 3666, but my Membench score actually went down so I put it back.
Aida64 memory read score of 53394 and a latency of 67. Not bad for $125 DRAM. All this at 1.38V. Dram Calculator suggests 1.44V, but I am good here. Maybe I will push it more some day when I am bored.
