i have a seized outer spool on my Ryobi weed wacker. The spool will not turn freely in my hand.
I can remove the trimmer shaft from my device because it is a detachable accessory on this model of
trimmer. The spool head will not turn when twisted with your hand.
I removed the trimmer line spool but cannot get the housing to disconnect
from the external trimmer shaft. I want to check the flexible shaft inside the trimmer shaft to see if it is
twisted or fused at the spool end, but cannot find a way to detach the spool housing from the shaft!
There are no "key" slots or "pin" holes to insert a thin bladed -slotted screwdriver into or an ice pick to
disengage the spool housing from the metal trimmer shaft
I have tried to gently pry the neck of the spool where it attaches to the metal shaft to no avail.
I believe this is an arborless design and there is no gear box on the shaft before the spool.
Does anyone know how to free up and remove the spool? see fig C item 6
thanks.
