Rye bread simply rocks.

Mind you, sourdough is good, whole wheat is good, etc., etc.

But there's something about a nice rye bread that makes a sammich just pop. I'm thinking of making a second sammich just because.

I contend that sourdough is the best.
Not to eat all the time, but for that extra awesomeness you can't beat a good sourdough.

Sourdough is great on hot sammichs oozing with saucy goodness.

Pastrami on rye, mmmmmmmmmmm.

St Paddy's Day coming up, every store on earth will have corned beef, cabbage and rye on sale this week. Corned Beef on rye isn't quite as good as pastrami on rye, but it's close enough and it still makes a good Reuben.

rye bread is great, but I pity anyone who doesn't know the sheer awesomeness of pechter's rye bread... I spent two years as a kid living a couple blocks away from their bakery and my mom drove pass it on her way to work every day, so we always had it in the house growing up.

My mom always used to get Cohen's rye bread. It was much dryer than most ryes, but hell it made the best toast ever once you buttered it. Sammiches weren't half bad on it either.

The only drawback to a good Reuben is that you better not have any sort of public/social function to attend for the next 4 hours immediately afterwards.

I'm going to have to go with Whole Wheat Beer bread made with Sam Adams.

Hit it with some olive oil, toast it in the frying pan, then make a beer bread burger. You'll come around, my son.

Maybe I'll make some.

I made some whole wheat and flax seed meal bread the other day that was darker than some rye bread I've bought.

I dislike the taste of beer.

This on the other hand is full of win... hunk of rye bread in one hand, hunk of kielbasa in the other, particularly Mysliwska kielbasa. SO full of win!

Nothing toasts as beautifully as a good rye...
