Okay, so I know this isn't the point of the thread but why was someone without the resources to properly care for a baby allowed to adopt it? Something doesn't make sense here.
People's circumstances change. Maybe she had the resources when the adoption went through? Then lost her job or got divorced or other hardships? I don't like it when people voluntarily impoverish themselves by having children they can't afford and then want others to pay for it but we don't know that she's anything other than a loving mother going through hard times (nor do we even know that much really).

Oh and to answer the OP's question, that kind of stuff gets to me every time. I used to tear up on Extreme Home Makeover quite often, the ESPN stories about challenged children, etc.
