Almost every member of congress believes federal stimulus will create jobs in their own district. Most of them are mistaken in that belief, but that doesn't stop them from bringing home the pork.

It is also the height of idiocy to believe that only your party's stimulus ideas will work. The reality is that some work, but most don't.. regardless of party.

Yes, they do work. You take money, and use it for projects or to pay government workers... of course it's creating jobs. Or do you think that stimulus money just gets burned in big bonfires?

The County of Maui got a little stimulus money and used it to buy a bus. Who do you think built the bus? Magical elves?

If you tax someone and spend that money, that's net zero. Nothing was created.

You can spend money you don't have to create jobs which is what we're doing now for a trillion dollars per year. But that takes away from future productivity.

The best you can hope for with stimulus spending is that you're spending it on something which encourages future growth. Telecom infrastructure spending might be a good example.

But taxing Peter so you can pay Paul to dig a hole and pay Patty to fill it in creats nothing.

Yeah because that is working so well in Europe. Please hang up and try your bullshit again.
