Watched it.

I wonder if anyone ever thought of trying to escape even if the odds are against them. First the jail cell, the tall wired fences, the gap to the other fence, marksmen on towers, then getting out of the area in the middle of nowhere. Not sure how they will survive in the cold weather. ^_^

I kept wondering why $$$ is spent to keep them in jail, feeding them, etc. Why not relocate the hardcore criminals in an island very far from mainland like Madagascar and let them fend for themselves. No TV, no internet...that should we torture enough.

They tried that once. It's called Australia.

Lol @ all the people saying this is what we need. Funny how there never is any correlation between how brutal the judicial system is and the level of violence in society outside. Well actually in some ways there is, the more brutal the system the more violent the society outside a well. Or vice versa depending on how you want to look at it. And the countries with some of the lowest crime rates happen to often have some of the best prisoner treatment. There are some exceptions to this but it's pretty solid. Go back a few hundred years and things get even more extreme. Steal a loaf of bread and get your hand cut off, murder someone and get your end trails pulled out, public executions. And yet rates of violent crime back in the middle ages were staggeringly high even with the horrible horrible punishments visited upon those caught. No this is not what we need. People think they want this, for revenge, but they don't really want the society that results from having this.

why do you talk like you're an expert when we all know your lack of credentials?

Not sure if serious. :hmm:

You are free to connect the dots differently if you so choose to. But the facts that I laid out are plain facts that are very very easy to confirm and are frankly just general knowledge. Like I said you are free to connect the facts as you see them.

Funny how everyone said they didn't see any abuse in the prison.

Now that's an iron fist. This is a 'made for tv' documentary, a tightly controlled depiction with reality not found.

I want one.
Dang. Just read the wiki on them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caucasian_Shepherd_Dog
Caucasian Shepherds are typically assertive, brave, alert, strong, hardy and courageous to a fault. They are truly second to none in their bellicosity towards strangers. Unless properly socialized, they may exhibit unmanageable tendencies. They seldom have time for strangers (but will greet family friends warmly) and have extremely powerful guarding instincts. Everything and everyone who belongs to the family, including other dogs will be regarded by this dog as part of its family and as such will fall under its guardianship. Owing to their size and nature these dogs should not be left alone with children. Aggression and dominance toward unknown dogs should be expected unless the animal has been extensively socialized at an early age and even then some unwanted behaviors may occur.

They did, it's now called Australia. 😀

we need prisons like that here in the US to put all the gang bangers in.

Russia has like ~860K prisoners, whereas the US has >2 million. source

The costs would be staggering. We do already employ supermax facilities for habitual and trouble offenders. They're retarded expensive to run though.

Not that I entirely disagree though. I just think the logistics aren't really feasible. But also, more effort on actual rehabilitation might be a better strategy.

i've proposed this here before.
drop all the criminals on an uninhabited island and let them go at each other.

Honestly while Black Dolphin was kind of extreme the other two seem similar to what we have in the US. The prison camp in Siberia seems exactly like what you see on the general population shows.

I have to wonder what the point of locking someone up for life in one of those places is rather than just hanging them.
