I'm going to ask one of my Russian friends if he knows about this before I personally donate, but Im thinking of giving $5 just to show support.

Last I checked, bribery and corruption were a way of life over there, so you might be more likely to help people in need if you donate to your local food bank instead.

Also, tragedies like this tend to get way overfunded, until they turn into a feeding frenzy over what to do with the spoils. Look at what happened to the billions in 9-11 money.

Some "charities" funnel their money right into the hands of terrorists.

Balt I agree -- I got the link off the Russian US embassy site -- lets hope thats somewhat decent

They take paypal, so at least you won't be taken.
It looks legit, and started off as charity for theatre victims. They have a list of every donor, and a list of how much was paid to each named victim, and they add up.

I find it surprising that a Google shows only one hit for "international foundation for victims of terror acts" (a link-back), and no hits for "Terror Act Victims Foundation", even though this site was registered almost 2 years ago.
