Russian subs operating near vital US undersea data cables

It's well documented that the US has tapped into Russian undersea cables and have done so for a very long time. I'd be surprised if this game isn't being played by several nations with the submarine and deep sea equipment to do so.

What may be different is the threat that these cables may be destroyed and with it billions to trillions in the economy.

Before Obama's term ends, WW3 will being and he will declare himself dictator, that has been his plan all along and that's why he has not stopped Putin or China when he could. The prophesy will be fulfilled.

The bigger threat is economic if you ask me. The idea that Russia or China or anyone else would invade us is, well, Hollywood fantasy. If something like that ever happened the world would pretty much come to an end with the exchange of hundreds to thousands of nukes.

But, Russia has had there economy fucked over big time by the sanctions that went into effect after they started fucking with the Ukraine and it is not beyond Putin to attempt some payback if he could have enough deniability.

You might be right except you confused Obama and Putin. :p

Broken English and references to prophecies. Seems legit.

Hmmm never even considered the idea of tapping into those, it would be fairly easy to do without having to worry about being caught. Someone who really knows what they're doing should be able to tap in without causing an outage so it would go pretty much undetected. Depending on how it's done (ex: passive) they would maybe notice a slight loss of light at both ends but if they insert a booster too then it could be pretty much undetected.

TBH I trust Russia more than the states though. Russia is not going to extradite me because I downloaded an MP3. But the states may.

We played this game during the cold war near Greenland. In fact, the U.S had a trip wire system that told us a Ruskie sub crossed passed it. Now, I wonder if Obozo is rethinking what Romney said? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwQqNdkyZZo

Wish that man was President today. Damn dirty shame. What happened to that hope and change BS? What change? Oh! What's left in my damn pocket!

Anyways.. Citizen, meet Coldwar Part II and a possible WWIII. You voted for it.

Maybe you can enjoy that MP3 while sitting in a gulag because you posted a meme with Putin in it or decided to surf a little porn in your spare time.

I don't really see Russia destroying these cables. If they really affect something like 90% of the world's internet traffic, then it screws them, too.

As far as tapping goes.... Uh hello, the US has been doing that to Russia since the Cold War, and I'm sure Russia taps us, or at least attempts to tap us all the time. We are constantly spying on each other, and I'm guessing that we have submarines constantly surveying the Russian ports and following them out all the time to see what they are up to.

Yeah, i remember Obama's campaign speeches about that during his first run. What a brilliant campaign platform. Glad he's finally living up to expectations.

P.S. I dont vote :)
