Russian Scammer on the line

So I get an email on a dating site from somebody purportedly in Wisconsin. Which is odd because iI'm in Colorado. Anyway, I'm curious & bored so I reply to the Yahoo address they gave. Something to the effect that this is probably spam, but I'm curious & bored so what the hell It's a throw away address, so I don't care if it gets on a spam list.

I get a reply the next day - "she" is not actually from Wisconsin, but - imagine this - it's actually Svetlana, a "Dantist" from Omsk Russia! Along with some cute pictures. So I decided to play along and sent back another reply - discussing the weather in Siberia

Today I get another message and some more pictures. And I do a little googling.

Here's the text of the first message:

Hello!!! I cant belive that you wrote to me, and its very interesting. How are you? My name is Svetlana. And I am very glad to see you in my
mail box. I am so nervous to write you this letter cause its my first convirsation throw internet. Also i must say that
i dont have my own computer, i use it in internet cafe. That is why it takes a lot of time to write you back.

Also i would like to explain you that i am from Russia,and i live in Omsk.
Its very good city. With a good traditions and grate history.

Unfortunatly, i have never been in USA. But i hope in some days i will fly to your country.
I hope you are not very sad that i am from Russia. My profile shows that i am from USA cause Its my first time,
i have never done it before and maybe did something wrong, but i want to be honest with you thats why i am telling you
where i am realy from.
It this letter i would like to tell you about myself as much as i can and you can see who i am.

Today we have 18 (temperature) and its very good. What about in your place?
I desided to put my profile on **********. And find someone from another country, because i am very lonely in Russia,
and i could not find someone who understand me and care about me. And i know that many russians girls found their love in your country
and i am also decided to do it.
By the way my friend has found her husband on ************, he is from France, and now they are very happy together and they are living in Leon.
And i also want to be happy with someone special for me, and who will be next to me. And age doesnt
matter for me at all, the main thing is to be happy and find love.

The mis-spellings I could believe if it's really from a non-english speaker. But it is definitely a scam - other people have gotten the same pictures & email (word for word, with different name, city, etc.).

It's coming from a Yahoo email address, and yahoo on my end gives me a message below the address: "Yahoo! DomainKeys has confirmed that this message was sent by yahoo.com." So no way to tell the origin of the message. I assume you could get a yahoo email account in Russia, right?

Maybe - but that falls apart if they really get here and you find out who Svetlana really is, and call the INS, etc. More likely just scamming you for the airfare money to bring your "true love" over for a visit.
