I was really surprised to find out on watching the movie "Golda" that Russia conspired with Egypt and Syria to try to destroy Israel and that Golda was of Ukranian descent. So I have some questions:
1) Why does Russia hate Ukraine so much? Is it coz a lot of Jews were in Ukraine? (I have no idea about their history)
2) Did Russia want to destroy Israel coz it was harboring Russian and/or Ukranian Jews?
3) I get that the Arabs like the Russians coz of their weapons and because the US did not want to sell modern weapons of mass destruction to the Arabs. So the US really is in a pickle from a foreign relations standpoint. Sell modern weapons to Arabs and they go on a crazy killing spree of their neighbors. Don't sell to them and then the Arabs align with the Russians and still cause mayhem. Let's suppose Russia is put out of commission due to exhausting their military supplies in the current stupid war with Ukraine. What are the odds that China will take the place of Russia in causing mischief in Middle East politics?
