Russian Professor Predicts End of U.S. by 2010

"There's a 55-45% chance right now that disintegration will occur," he says. "One could rejoice in that process," he adds, poker-faced. "But if we're talking reasonably, it's not the best scenario -- for Russia." Though Russia would become more powerful on the global stage, he says, its economy would suffer because it currently depends heavily on the dollar and on trade with the U.S.

Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces -- with Alaska reverting to Russian control.

He based the forecast on classified data supplied to him by FAPSI analysts, he says. He predicts that economic, financial and demographic trends will provoke a political and social crisis in the U.S. When the going gets tough, he says, wealthier states will withhold funds from the federal government and effectively secede from the union. Social unrest up to and including a civil war will follow. The U.S. will then split along ethnic lines, and foreign powers will move in.

California will form the nucleus of what he calls "The Californian Republic," and will be part of China or under Chinese influence. Texas will be the heart of "The Texas Republic," a cluster of states that will go to Mexico or fall under Mexican influence. Washington, D.C., and New York will be part of an "Atlantic America" that may join the European Union. Canada will grab a group of Northern states Prof. Panarin calls "The Central North American Republic." Hawaii, he suggests, will be a protectorate of Japan or China, and Alaska will be subsumed into Russia.

"It would be reasonable for Russia to lay claim to Alaska; it was part of the Russian Empire for a long time." A framed satellite image of the Bering Strait that separates Alaska from Russia like a thread hangs from his office wall. "It's not there for no reason," he says with a sly grin.

The scary part is what he says is really not out of the realm of possibility with the exception of California falling under Chinese influence it will clearly be under Mexico's. Well that and the China may beat Japan to Hawaii.

What?s even worse is if it happens I have no doubt history will keep repeating itself with the Haves clustered in separate set of states and the Have Not?s clustered in the others sets states trying to cross illegally in the too Have states to get a piece of the Haves stuff ( seeking better way of life), overwhelming the Have states and undermining their foundations forcing more civil war until there are no Haves left.

i'm not surprised that you thought this was feasible or anywhere close to being based in reality.

China taking over California... LOL has this guy even set foot in america? If we were to have a civil war and ended in the break up of the union. It would be more like how the states and territories were in the 1850. This map would resemble what it would look like http://lincoln.lib.niu.edu/gal...status_053101_400.html. As for foreign nation controlling a part of what makes up the United States never would happen except maybe a small area of the southwest. I think in a mad max situation what would happen is people in this nation would get fed up and want to break away from the union and form their own country.

It's nonsense, but if they did predict the dissolution of the US, they'd be way ahead of our predicting the dissolution of the USSR.

Can somebody bookmark this thread for lawls in 18 months please? I need to get a thread going or something with a link to all of the threads we can laugh at later.

Anyone in this forum can do the same prediction about Russia or even China or any other country as he/she wished! It's FREE and there's no consequence to it! It's nothing but "hot air" from a bad breath person that evaporates in seconds. Why waste our time on this stupid prediction? However, if there's consequence for missing the prediction (hanging or beheading of the culprit), maybe, and only then will I waste my time on such stupid predictions.

Here is the thread about this professor's prediction from over in OT. He is a crackpot, at least when it comes to his ideas of the US. He has no idea of the history of various regions of the US nor of their respective cultures/ideals/realities/etc. We may turn to civil war again sometime in the future (maybe 2012+), but this guy is way off the mark. California under the control of China? Puh-leaze. We Americans speculate about another civil war and how we would divide ourselves up all the time. I think that that would be a more accurate representation of how things would play out.

Edit: Linkified.

Its not hard to predict that the USA may cease to exist in its exact current State. In any kind of not even worse case scenarios, massive restructuring in the US may happen by 2010, we don;t even know yet how a bad a shape we are in yet, when and how the various collapses will come, and we have been in a negative balance of trade State for almost 30 years.

And the Soviet Union underwent a similar transformation starting after 1990, and nearly everyone predicted them down and out. Yet, less than 20 years later, they are rebuilding their power.

The only area where I feel we can totally disagree with the Russian Professor is in coming even close to predicting exactly what form the restructuring will take.

But its not rocket science to predict that the rest of the world will simply quit lending the USA money to finance our own delusions, and then the magic merry go round will come to a screeching halt.
