That's about as high as I'd want to go in a home made helicopter.

Wouldn't an autogyro design be both safer and easier to make? Granted, you need runway to take off...but I'd make that trade.

I wonder if that's got a clutch out of a weedeater or a chainsaw or something. :hmm:

The spectators are kinda brave as well IMO, if one of those rotor blades comes off at operational RPM's watch the fuck out for auto-inpalment..

Probably a snowmobile or lawnmower arrangement, a weedeater is only like a 38cc engine, I can't imaging the clutch being big enough. I do remember the coast guard intercepting some Cubans on a raft using a weedeater as an outboard motor! :eek:

what i can't stop thinking about is what if the rotors fail and it turns into a lethal weapon flying off into god knows what direction, especially with people around. When its works its awesome, but a little FMEA and risk mitigation can help to maintain the clean fun.
