Seems the Russian foreign service bureau has been active of late. Just today, the Australian Feds arrested two Russians...

Two Russian-born Australian citizens have been accused of obtaining Australian Defence Force material to share with Russian authorities.

Australian Federal Police arrested 40-year-old Kira Korolev, who is an ADF army private, and 62-year-old Igor Korolev at their home in the Brisbane suburb of Everton Park yesterday morning.

The married couple have been charged with one count each of preparing for an espionage offence, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years' imprisonment.

tbh if mighty Russia is trying to gather intel from middling Australia... Putin is kinda farked...

Always interested to see which of our more entertaining posters goes silent for a while.
He might be more of a "useful idiot," which makes me so sad that his jejune ideological googles have blinded him to justice and the truth. I blame YouTube. It's a theory I'm working on here.

I tend to doubt the useful idiot angle if for no other reason than he will NEVER criticize Russia or Putin on any topic, no matter how small, even when it would make him more credible.

Useful idiots in my understanding are people who don’t realize they are being used but that level of refusal to make any criticism makes it seem like a conscious choice to me.

I hear you. Still, never underestimate the idiot passion of a fanboy. Look at all the blighted bozos for Trump. Nobody's paying them!

YG is likely of Slavic extraction, is my wholly unsupported guess.

^^ And of course he's in FL praying to the Orange god.

Declaring that Ukraine no longer exists and is now part of Russia would end the invasion, right?

This is really bad news for Trump and the GOP. It's like one of their arms are being cut off from one of their favorite sources of disinformation to use against Biden and the Democrats.

Small wonder Trump and his stooges hate our intelligence and security services so much. That being said, you've got to wonder what other interesting tidbits of information our intelligence services must have in Trump's dossier.

I wonder if it will even make a dent. The disinfo bots are legion.

So is this a situation where Putin will run out of hardware well before his mobiki runs out while the AFU will run out of conscripts well before they run out of hardware supplied by NATO and friends?

The kill ratio seems to be the deciding factor here isn't it? Yeah it sounds cold to lay it out that way, but.......

The Soviet inheritance was indeed vast but not unlimited. Also they are losing stuff faster than they can even refurb equipment leading to shortages that are evident at the front.

Nah that has always been the calculus. It varies depending on analyst but Ukraine needs to win 1:3 to 1:5 .. I think lately its been 1:8?

Got a feeling the PJDAM is finally going to have its moment.

These would be a very attractive option for any allied country looking to build long range magazine depth at relatively low cost.

Exxxcellent. Can't let those Hammers have all the fun.

Nice to hear anything about ERAM too, may it spawn at least one Ukrainian clone. Sounds like it will join the likes of APKWS and the Hawkeye MHS for cost effective ass kickers. Haven't heard anything regarding Ukrainian feedback on the Hawkeye yet, but that mobility plus eight rounds of 105 per minute probably slaps pretty hard.

Zelenskyy said recently it was 1:6. I suspect the glide bombs are mildly effective.

Can't remember if this has been mentioned here, but I read that the Ukrainian front line defenders have changed tactics. When the glide bombs appear, they pull back from their trenches. Arty and drones makes short work of any Russian advance that follows the glide bomb 'softning'. Any Russians that manages to get into the Ukrainian trench then have to be push out by the Ukrainian defenders.

If there are no more glide bombs because the F16's are making the skies a wee bit too dangerous for the Russian pilots, Ukrainian defenders can remain in the trenches and use their defensive role to the max. Then I see the ratio move to 1:8 or even 1:10.

Russian drones will remain a problem. Anti-drone support on the front lines is the next bit that have to be tackled.
