You really need some eejit that looks like he can't afford a shaver in an attic to tell you on YouTube that removing the equivalent of the chief of staff of the army is a "big deal"?

Talk about delegation of all critical thinking!

Isn't that the guy who people suspect is some sort of asset for the US government?

If he really does have cancer, that might explain this war. Staring his own mortality in face made him decide to "cement" his legacy.
Beau already explained this war.
Rumor has it that Putin's intel division dedicated to foreign countries, took a LOT of money to "buy" militias in Ukraine that were supposed to be loyal to Russia. Thus the opening three day blitz of this war. The air drops into Kyiv. They were supposed to be met with friendlies. They were not. Because no such forces existed. Because Putin's intel agency pocketed the millions (billions?) instead of spending it to buy Ukraine. Putin's advisors convinced him it'd be another 2014. Just walk in, shoot some people and plant your flag. Turns out, if these rumors are true, many top Russians betrayed Putin through corruption and looting - leading to this war based on lies and false assumptions.

Sure, his motive might have been to conclude 2014's conflict.
But the instigator appears to be sniffing his own !@$$ and not knowing reality from delusion.

Even the death of Eisenhower wouldn’t have been as critical as the allies had depth of talent. The reason this guy is great to knock out is that he’s one of their few actually highly competent leaders.

You're talking about why he thought he could win, not why he decided to do it now.

Except that the clip, if you watched it, is from before the incident and gives some background into who this guy is.
So you have a hard on for Beau ... cant imagine why, cant imagine I really wanna know either.. *shrugs*. But you ARE coming on strong. Its a little weird.

Fuel depot burning in Moscow.
Yuri is good!

Just on that video from Beau - its not that Ukraine will always try to kill generals that is the news. Its the notion that Russia have finally figured out that there is something rotten in their army, and their top guy is trying to sort it out by eliminating lines of communications and seeing whats up directly on the ground.

Edit: seems reports of the General being wounded may be wrong...

it's amazing how they can track this stuff, there was a story a couple days ago on how they were tracking troop movements from the areas around Kyiv to the Donbass by someones stolen airpods
There is a reason that the Taliban, Al Queda and ISIL went totally low tech in an effort to survive. The NSA has all the coolest toys and tricks. I think we have been sharing more precise Intel with Ukraine b/4 Biden said we would in recent comments. That, and, the CIA has actual human assets within the Russian organs of state.

About that, if the Russian governmental apparatus really is saturated with a thorough kleptocratic culture, then what is really the difference between a few cases of night vision equipment and some straight up information? If there is a price tag on it its fair game right?

I'm guessing CIA etc. aren't needed for this particular stuff, just an insurance company phone call. Most heavy equipment has remote diagnostic and tracking built in these days. The recent John Deere Right to Repair fight shows the other side of the coin for legitimate owners.

Sure, there are 'easy' pickings out there. I’m referring to such things as strategic and tactical intel. For example, the leaking of Russia's battle plan early last year. That wasn't likely to have come from a cheap bribe.

Sure on tractors - but AirPods!? How about phones that are 'off'. I doubt anyone important in Al Queda even kept a cell phone in their house.

Oh I think he accomplished that given the deep dive governments, militaries, historians and internet basement dwellers are\will be doing on how the war turned out vs expectations. Now whether it's the kind of legacy he wanted....well I'd guess perhaps not

The spirit of Russia keeps the tracks up. Is very safe. Trust us. Now drive over it so we may continue to advance the glory of Russia

Enriching yourself and direct treason is a little different, especially in a country where you’re allowed to steal. FSB sure won’t see them the same.
