Y'all are assuming there's going to be a world in another year.
I try not to expect anything. Now, I think it was Henry Miller that said when he saw prognostications of end of the world that's when he reached for his revolver. But I think that was prior to the hydrogen bomb. However, I'm not in favor of conceding anything in front of Lavrov's threat. Let them mug and rape the world with their nukes? Really?

Radiation Level At Chernobyl 'Abnormal': IAEA Chief

www.barrons.com.ico
Barron's|27 minutes ago
The level of radiation at the Chernobyl nuclear disaster site is "abnormal", rising after Russian forces took over the area, the UN atomic watchdog's chief said while visiting Tuesday.
Yeah you disturb as much contaminated soil as they did I'm not surprised.

Any chance that testing was just from testing the soldiers that were digging the trenches there? :D

Biden Scores Rare Republican Win With Ukrainian Refugee Policy

More than sixty percent of GOP voters say they support the president's new program for accepting in the U.S. up to 100,000 Ukrainian refugees.

I'm guessing because they're not brown.
Well educated European/White Christians are welcomed in the USA/Europe. As opposed to Brown Woman beating Muslims . We have plenty of that kind here. They are called Gypsies(except they are not Muslims, everything else are the same)

Rand Paul continues to be a piece of shit.
And that is why we small countries like to be part of international organizations that try to uphold the law and not just get invaded. So dear US citizens please choose a president that sticks to that agenda too at the next election . ❤️🙏 From a concerned citizen living in I small country close to Russia.

U.N. vote could "put Russia on the spot" for its "shameful" vetoes of Security Council action on Ukraine

www.cbsnews.com.ico
CBS News|23 minutes ago
The U.S. envoy to the U.N. says the resolution would help address Russia's "shameful pattern of abusing its veto privilege" on the Security Council.

...

Why is there a security council at all?

If the general assembly had a supermajority agreement, then that should be basis enough for UN action.

It's because of the double standards of the security council and its veto that the UN is every bit as irrelevant as the League of Nations.

The UN would have never been formed otherwise. What you are describing is basically the League of Nations, something Woodrow Wilson pushed heavily after WWI (both during his Presidency and after) which never got beyond the talking stage.

Also be careful what you wish for. If that was the rules then Israel would have been destroyed decades ago by UN action.

With a world wide chip shortage, this is no surprise. Never ever should have allowed military to not buy American.

Not related to foreign components. And for the record, outside of super special circumstances, you already can't source system components from certain nations. Even lenovo pcs/servers are off limits. Had a big issue with this when it changed hands from IBM back in the day. What a shit show.

Given the way they've behaved for the last 40 years they could do with a threat or two on them to put a halt to their ethnic cleansing.

.... and no, there is a large difference between a motion on condemnation and invasion.

Also considering Israel has refused to help arm Ukraine, why are we still giving them foreign aid?

Another fire rumor (or something like that) going around, supposedly in Moscow.

The initial cloud has an orange tinge to it. This could be an explosion from natural gas that built up in the fire box. If it was coal powered, I would expect darker smoke.

The latter cloud looks like the explosion caused a boiler steam tube rupture that was bad enough to cause steam to leak out of the fire box, and into the surrounding building (and then out of the building). Anyone inside that building was cooked.

British Defense Secretary George Wallace said Monday about 15,000 Russian troops have been killed since Russia invaded Ukraine in February, adding to mounting evidence of the Russian death toll—NATO estimated last month 7,000 to 15,000 Russian troops have died in the invasion and Ukraine said Monday 21,900 Russian troops have been killed, all far outpacing the 1,351 dead Russia reported March 25 in its last casualty update.

Russia’s death toll likely outpaces that of Ukrainian military personnel: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told CNN last week about 2,500 to 3,000 soldiers have been killed, likely a more reliable figure than the 14,000 Ukrainian troops Russia said it had killed March 25, and third-party estimates on Ukrainian troop casualties are not available.

Does anyone really know what the numbers are?

Unfortunately it's looking like the number of Ukrainian civilian casualties far outnumber the number of soldiers killed :(
