I'm not going to post it due to graphic content but looks like the Ukrainians are finding the Kadyrovtsy.

Good.

Russia asks China for weapons, U.S. officials say

https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...live-updates/#link-UD2Q4MAMAJEAZO5TUEYSMNX4JA

Russia has turned to China for military equipment and aid in the weeks since it began its invasion of Ukraine, U.S. officials familiar with the matter told The Washington Post.

The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, did not describe what kind of weaponry had been requested, or whether they know how China responded.

The development comes as White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan plans to travel to Rome on Monday to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Yang Jiechi.

The Chinese will be hesitant to help too much and risk alienating the US/EU/Asia alliance into economic actions. They also just locked down Shenzhen due to COVID. Xi has enough problems already I think.

I bet Xi’s got a lot more spare tires tho.

Look at him just walking down the street in the middle of the day, not afraid of what the Russians could do. That's why his soldiers and people love him.

He needs to stop it. He won't be much good to his people if Russia gets a window with a missile or sniper and takes it.

Ukraine is contested airspace, still have Russian agents to worry about too. Putin has no shame and is extremely desperate, I hope Zelenskyy can keep that in mind. He's already dominating the PR scene, I don't know what his approval is right now at home but I wouldn't be surprised if it's Putin's favorite percentage number. Just seems like an unnecessary risk right now. Russians like to remove problematic players off the board with timely airstrikes, same as us.

The Chinese and Russians will of course get some things done on the down low. They share a huge border that can be exploited with ease.

China has to play both sides in this game of two-faced appeasement just as they've done well before Putin decided to make Ukraine his bitch neighbor. I can't imagine how tangled the web must be for Jinping to pull that off but then again they're accomplished experts at it so....

Understand the sentiment and I'm sure he's not taking huge chances with what he's doing...but consider the worst happening. He's assassinated going to hospital, etc. He instantly becomes a martyr, probably a more powerful figure than he is currently.

I think Putin wants him alive...trophy to display.
