Zelenskyy suddenly saying he might be open to trading territory for peace right before they seize Russian territory. Haha. If Russia might stand to keep some of Ukraine, well then it's only proper Ukraine get some of Russia! I love this guy.

I think you're wildly overestimating the the ability of the Russian forces to pivot. They've grossly overcommitted to the front lines and the Wagner incident showed how utterly incapable they were in their own backyard.
How much resources can Ukraine commit to this Kursk front? If they can't push alot of men through, its going to end up like the Belgorod raids in the summer 2023
Ukraine Matters says 2 brigades and said they were about 2000 men.
The good thing is that they have broken through the 2 defensive lines so there are no more built up defenses for them to cross(if the news that Ukraine has taken Suzcha is true). Wondering whether Ukraine is going to threaten Moscow or swing east to cause alot of trouble for the Russian northern front.

Taking Suzcha is all you need to pinch the GLOC and railways supplying Russia's Kharkiv offensive. Leaving a single route to be targeted by bombs.
Unless Russia somehow cedes more ground, this will be the extent of the operation. Resistance will be met and further progress halted.
It'll be enough to cause some pain, draw more Russian forces, and maybe establish stronger defensive positions that are not in Ukraine.
The more Russian land this war is fought on, the better.

Though I will say this, taking and keeping Suzcha is probably impossible.
Going to wait for some solid confirmation.

Along the rail line to Suzcha there are something like 4-5 bridges. If Ukraine manages to blow these, Russian logistics in this area will be difficult even if Ukraine withdraws.

Reminds me of what Bess Truman used to call her husband in private . . . Big Harry Balls . . . also, The Truman Show.

My twitter feed is in overdrive atm....

I don't think the Ukrainians will leave. This is a path towards victory. A few posts;

A couple of more tidbits;
  • The Russians seems worried since there seems to be another Ukrainian force screening themselves with EW at Hlukhiv. Hlukhiv is West of the highway the red arrows are pointing to in the image above.
  • There is a report of a Russian force of recruits and scraps from wherever they can be found numbering 2000 strong that hope to take Sudzha back from the Ukrainians. So no real reserves available inside Russia. They are fully committed at their fronts inside Ukraine.
  • There are reports of F16's flying over Kherson. Also Russian reports of the Ukrainians massing brigades in this area.

So much good vibes :beercheers:

Remember what happened to that German armor before.

Is it best to get the Russian people to rise up behind their dictator? They haven't been told a lot of things so far. They WILL be told about this.

I'm obviously not a strategist but I would think even one mobile, brigade size force punching around essentially unfettered in your backyard is significantly bad news. This breakout is much larger than that by all reports. This sounds like ukraine has pulled off the scale and magnitude of then incursion planned by the Germans in the battle of the bulge.

Worse for the Russians, Ukraine can probably play hell with enough captured fuel that if they can maintain logistics, a march on Moscow might be feasible.

Putin just passed a law that prohibits soldiers from carrying mobile phones. Seems they want to stop the panic posts on Telegram coming from soldiers in Kursk. And now Youtube is fully deactivated inside Russia.

They can't post if they're dead ...
