What official story are they going to run with I wonder? Misfire of AD system? Putin woke up and felt like retracting a pardon? NATO did it? No wait, it was the russophobia.

What an absolute clown.

The guy was literally a couple hours away from Moscow and had Russia's pants pulled all the way down bent over.

He could have been a king maker, peace bringer, got rich, killed Putin, hand him over to the Hague, and bailed when the state collapses anyway in a few years.

Or he fake his death, I mean just wow, you cant make this stuff up.

What’s going down in Moscow tonight??? Just me, or is Putin’s motorcade moving faster than usual?

Man that's nothing new, they've always go fast to make it look dramatic.

Get interested when his plane goes into the Ural mountains or something.

I don't understand this either...

1. He was RIGHT THERE

2. He KNEW what would (eventually) happen to him if he did this

Over 500 children have been killed by this war:

He could have brought peace & prosperity to Russia. He would have been hailed as a hero. I don't get it. It was a VERY weird move to bail right before the finish line.

Oh and Utkin, the founder of Wagner was also on the plane, along with Chekalov Valeriy (deputy of Prigozhin and Wagner's security chief). So either #1, #2, #3 all faked their deaths, or Wagner is currently headless.

Financial Times is reporting: 'A western official said they had been told the plane had been brought down by a Russian anti-aircraft missile system but could not confirm whether Prigozhin was on board, adding: “Putin doesn’t take prisoners.”'

There are also a report that - "The Belarusian authorities have cut off the internet in the area of the main Wagner Group camp in the Tale Village in Belarus. Looks like Putin and Lukashenko are trying to stop the Wagner Group from communicating with each other and coordinating a quick response."

Doubtful. Too much money to be made. Overtures will be made to the Africa leaders by other Russians and new deals made. Its difficult for the West to get involved in the area, so Russia have free rein here.

Russia just inked a whole bunch of 'security agreements' with several African countries I do believe. France is very involved, Nigeria entering the chat might happen we'll see.

I'm sure Russia, be they Wagner, Patriot or whatever, will try to make things as unpleasant as possible for everyone who isn't the warlord of their choice.

Yeah MOD gonna try to take this over but fuck it up because they are incompetent lol.

Putin's spectacularly poor judgment in both allowing Wagner to grow so powerful than lazily try to co-opt it/give MOD what they wanted resulting in the coup attempt that cost the VKS several valuable aircraft has been great. Also sidelining Wagner removed one of Russia's most effective combat organizations from the equation in Ukraine. Even better Surovikin is next in line for a short job in window integrity testing and he was the only guy high up at MOD who had any idea what he was doing.

I suspect he was told he didn't have enough support in the military to actually take moscow without a massive fight.

Take salt ofcause. Sushko is a tad optimistic in some of his posts. I think it was Sushko that mentioned some months ago that Prigozhin had a folder on Putin. Not that Putin would care on what comes out. If Putin can reach out and touch someone like Prigozhin in broad daylight, he can reach out and touch anyone amongst the Russian elite.
