The Dutch announce they will supply Ukraine with 42 F-16s.

Edit: this will not of course be all at once due to training and that they still have a couple years of F-35 deliveries to go before they totally wind down their existing fleet. Expect the Danes to make a similar announcement relatively soon.

Denmark says they will provide 19 F-16s. So 61 total frames when all deliveries are complete.

Ukraine is clearly shopping for another plane since they will ultimately need more than that and would probably like something that isn't bound to US political winds. Sweden is probably the most reliable partner for that right now so Gripen in the lead.

61 birds is just the opening round, as I understand it Netherlands and Denmark is going to do the rounds to convince other countries to fork over their F-16’s as well… I dont know why that would do a difference but I suppose they have a game plan.

Btw, Denmark is like 6 million people and Netherland is like 17… Not big players in the scheme of things… Think if we can get the ball rolling.

The Vlad has got some thinking to do.

There are not a ton available outside of US stocks. Norway sold most of theirs to Romania.

Ukraine was negotiating licensed production of the Gripen C/D about 10 years ago but the deal never closed for various reasons. Saab is siting on some extra frames they built to keep the line open and Sweden wants to move to the E which would render their C/Ds available for export. They also really need a major export customer since they keep losing deal after deal to the French and the US.

Brutal. The NeoCons in DC have no regard for human life.

Look at you still feverishly sucking Putin's cock. It's like you're drowning and you think his balls have oxygen.

Russians have been pursuing genocide and other war crimes for almost 2 years now, every week we hear of new innocents targeted and killed. But it's American 'neocons' who are brutal. :tearsofjoy:

Hey grasshopper, why are you fucking stupid?

Newsweek's "reporting" such as it is these days is vague, often inaccurate, and just kinda useless. Really recommend not using them as a source for news.
their BS articles keep showing up on my MS Edge start page, along with a bunch of other right wing fly by night websites

Poor lil bloodthirsty Putler. Went and gave Rosgvardia tanks because he knows his regime is still at risk. Doesn't get invited to the important stuff, won't attend the BRICS social because he's an international pariah and war criminal with a warrant out for him. Just too busy orchestrating war crimes while he ruins his gas station.

You can't make this stuff up.

His daily brief must have been fantastic:

1) Lunar lander meant to restore pride and reputation of Russian space technology crashed into the moon.
2) Ukrainians blew up Tu-22M3 almost 800km from Ukraine necessitating hiding the rest in the Kola peninsula.
3) Euro countries commit F-16s.

I really would leave off the Lunar lander crash; i mean we've had our fair share of space disasters and disappointments; and while i think most of Russia ruling class should be prosecuted for war crimes against humanity; the lunar thing is unrelated.

Nah fuck Roscosmos. They put together their own PMC, brainstormed that they could use their rockets to deliver bombs to Ukraine, and a number of their ex-brass have gotten killed/injured in occupied Ukraine.

Indeed. They were the dead man walking in the space community before that too. What a story of fuckups.

Funny how Rogozin finally found a pastime he sucks more at than running a space program - playing soldier. Seems his military qualifications rival the ones he has in engineering and science.

LOL. Let me translate this article for you:

‘We know this war is coming to an end soon. So let’s get some positive PR and tell the dupes who believe mainstream media that were sending a bunch of planes to help Ukraine out.’

Your welcome.

We know this war is coming to an end soon.
I am going to let you in on a little secret.

Wars? They never end soon.

For example, a while back, a Russia started a war in Ukraine that was supposed to last 3 days. Yea. 3 day war. What is this now, day 600?

Once upon a time the USA started a war in Iraq then declared mission accomplished six weeks later. The US is still fighting in Iraq.

Or the Syrian civil war, that was supposed to be over in what, a month or two? And that started 2011? 2023, no end in sight, although most of the factions have settled down to internal murder at the moment. ISIS is making a resurgence though in Assad held areas.

The one thing I can absolutely guarantee you, without any shadow of a doubt, is this thread will be going this time next year.

We have given Ukraine nearly double the amount the ENTIRE Russian military spends in one year, but somehow that isn’t enough?

And yet Biden wants to spend another $24 billion…meanwhile the US citizens of Maui get a $700 check for their troubles. Thanks Biden.

You can’t make this stuff up.
The person you should be thanking for Hawaii is McCarthy. Biden immediately sent the maximum he is authorized to send. Congress is the place to get more authorized.
