If I have people download this and run it, will they be cracking for us with them having to do NOTHING else? No configuring etc?

Not exactly...They have to enter their e-mail and join TA after a few days...unless they enter one of the mini-team or already established member e-mail addresses

If they use the TA Cube one, they don't have to do anything else. It's the best thing since sliced bread. A major Borg weapon!

Engineer is correct. With the generic Team AnandTech version, they'll still need to go thru the signup procedure to be cracking for TA. Unfortunately, there's no way to automate that part.

With the version specific to TA Cube, they just run the setup.bat file, and they're done.

Okay, I've got my main box up and running using Russ' generic TA Standard version. One question... Can I join a mini-team under my own address? If not, is there a way to track my own progress as a member of a mini-team?

I know these are probably stupid questions but I want to start out right.

I don't think there is a way to monitor individual output via a mini-team e-mail addy. unless you want to set up your own proxy and monitor it that way. You can also use log files, but I think that may be a bit tedious...Not sure of other methods...Maybe someone else will help me here !

The generic disk points to proxy.teamanandtech.com, which is the round robin, so you're in a flush "rotation". Hard to track individually. But, if you flush directly to Mika's, you can check the host stats and get an idea of your own production.

I'm still confused. If I join a mini-team I have to use it's Email address as the Dnet ID right? How then can I keep track of my own output if I'm using an Email that a bunch of people are using?

If you click the link above, you will see that these are all people that crack for TA Cube, under rc5@tacube.com. On the left, it shows the host from which they are connecting. As long as you are the only one connecting from your host, you'll see your production seperately.

For example, the IP of 63.226.228.*** showing 14 blocks was me doing a little test directly to Mika's.

By looking for your IP address under the 'host' section

If you click on an email addy you can view a list of all the domains that have contributed to this email addy.

Okay, I think I get it. I can't see my own production, just all production from my host and/or IP (which is dynamic). I'm on Roadrunner cable and it seems pretty popular. Since that's the case I really wouldn't be able to weed out my own output correct?

I'm up and running with my own addy. I just like the idea of a mini-team. One of the big SETI members, DanStp, mentioned creating a SETI mini-team. I like that idea. It would probably attract more current SETI members as well. I'll switch my other 3 boxes over now and crack under my own addy until a SETI mini-team is created.

Now, If you are working under your own Email addres. You will need to join Team Anandtech after 24 hours of your first block send off.
What this means is you will see yourself after the dnet stats are updated if you uploaded one block before 7 CST. If you uploaded after this time. It will not be shown until tomorrows stats are run. You will then have to find yourself on distributed.net and join Team Anandtech that way.
