I don't think Rush is awful...you just need to have tolerant ear to appreciate the technicality of the group. My only beef with the band is Geddy Lee's really really really bad hair over the years! You think with all the money he's making now he could afford a good hair cut! BTW mucman nice playin'!

thank Sealy... I think Triumph was just commenting about the their first album though... I would say it is pretty darn good for '74 and for their age. Of course there is no Peart on that album which makes it sound less Rushish than Fly by night.

it just has that early 70's, trying to be Led Zeppelin, singing about lame Rock & Roll topics, feel to it. they surely didn't find their niche yet, and were just being a cookie cutter type band. when I listen to that first lick in Take A Friend, I expect to hear right after that, "MISSISSIPPI QUEEN!" or something like that.

Believe it or not I love that album... I actually like their newer stuff better than the older stuff.
