People don't realize that Rush Limbaugh is the ultimate "real world troll". Most of the things he says are deliberately outlandish and put out there solely to provoke a reaction. I have no doubt that he really doesn't believe this at all.

Could be, but the problem is that millions of Americans that listen to him will believe it.

Even if he is trolling (which is possible), most of the GOP base will still believe what he says. That isn't good the country at all. Last thing we need are people helping create more ignorance.

Exactly who is putting their ignorance on display here again?

LOL @ people not being able to take a joke simply because they despise the joke teller.

And on the off chance that you actually are stupid enough to think he is serious, WTF does it matter?
This.

Is there some Schlong Institute keeping solemn databases of penis sizes? I ran into this on a green site as well with a study finding that due to estrogen-mimicking pollutants, alligator penises were 33% smaller than fifty years ago. I just find it difficult to believe that half a century ago, people were measuring penises in any statistically useful method.

And for the record, my penis is enormous compared to fifty years ago. So I've got that going for me . . .

Oh wow a second thread in which this guy is a factor....

Well.

I guess I'll just repeat myself. I was glad when he was let go from the NFL over this statement.
[FONT=Trebuchet MS,Bookman Old Style,Arial]"I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They're interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there's a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn't deserve."

Rush Limbaugh made this statement about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb during a September 2003 broadcast of ESPN television's Sunday NFL Countdown program. The controversy generated by the remark prompted Limbaugh's resignation from his position as a commentator on that show.

"Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"

"Take that bone out of your nose and call me back."

Rush Limbaugh acknowledged making these statements in a 1990 Newsday article (although the latter, at least, occurred not on Limbaugh's now-familiar talk and political commentary radio program, but at the beginning of his broadcast career back in the early 1970s when he was hosting a Top 40 music show under the name "Jeff Christie" on either WIXZ or KQV in Pittsburgh):

Rush Limbaughs explanations for those statements aside. I think they're indicative of an attitude that when people have them are hard to let go of.

Maybe he has but I don't go out of my way to listen to him.

Well there you go. Now not only do you wish he dies, but you hope he suffers. We are glad to know you hold Rush on the same level as terrorists that wish the death of every American because he lied but when a Liberal lies he gets a free pass with you.
That's not fair. Liberals believe we should try to understand what we've done to make terrorists hate us and they fight tooth and nail to keep them alive, so clearly they don't put Rush on the same level. ;)

Understanding some of the history of the middle east in regards to U.S. activities there is not and should not be cast in left vs. right partisanry....

For example take this hypothetical. If some foreign country(ies) orchestrated the overthrow of an elected U.S. president because they didn't like his policies and installed a friendly regime that was later overthrown would the U.S. be "unfriendly" with the country(ies) involved?

I know I would be very resentful about that. I doubt it would be quickly for forgotten either.

Well U.S. intervention of a similar nature has happened
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat
and the resulting relationship (or lack thereof) which the U.S. has with Iran is a problem now.

Knowing history so that better decisions might be made in the future shouldn't be a political football.

Oh OK, so the fine art of listening to Rush is to know when he's joking or not. I understand that it sometimes may be difficult to know, because he's ALWAYS sounding like he means what he says.

But Rush supporters seem to always know when he's joking....or not. Rush supporters seem to be the ONLY folks who know when he's joking....or not. I guess you'd have to really like him and listen to him all the time to pick up on his nuanced finer idiosincratic tonalities and gesticulative characteristics to really know.

AHA! I think I see how that cerebrally challenging task of knowing when Rush is joking works: If Rush makes a complete ass of himself and says something that even his own supporters can't possibly defend then he must have been joking, right?

Wow, what a very complex task full of intricate processes that require strict attention to detail......and convenient too! lol

90% of the time he opens his mouth. Though, it's not necessarily because he's ignorant - he makes millions of dollars pandering to idiots who believe the crap that comes out of his mouth.

No, but one day in all my dreams of irony I hope to make him dance for me while I exercise his fat ass down a prisonyard path in a old soviet tank.

Maybe if he greases the wheels of communism with some cash a we could be generous and provide female escorts with bullwhips. (nah, he would like that too much)

I hope that answered your question comrade.

Why were you dancing in strip clubs? Was this in San Francisco... forget it I'm sure I don't want to know about you in the high heels and that trick that you do.

I guess in the Obama economy we have to step out of our shell but this is a bit much.

I am a DJ and sound engineer for events. Not a dancer. Although I do have some rhythm in this old bum still. But for cash? Nah, I am too modest top be a jigalo, and I dont have the heart to be a pimp.

Rush has to find topics to fill 3 hours of airtime, and his average listener easily has 4 hours to spare per day. So it pretty much takes one to know one. :)

So his average listener must be a dimocrat, because they are the only ones posting about his shows?

Leave it to the Obama economy giving democrats everywhere time to become Rush fans.

Nah, it's because Dems don't identify with Limbaugh and have fun pointing out what a lying jerkoff jackass he is and like to run him up the 'ol flagpole as the shining example of what kind of pukefaces the Repubs admire and respect (no offense to all other pukefaces). Whereas Repub Limbaugh supporters are too ashamed and embarrassed to admit they enjoy listening to Limpballs and either won't admit they know the real truth about him or won't admit that they believe in him and won't, out of shame, publicly support all the sewage that he belches out of his mouth every day.
