Last night I was able to see one of my favorite bands one again at Red Rocks Amphitheater. These guys just rock, and really have a sense of humor that really showed in the opening, half time and closing video.

The opening video was cut short due to a technical difficulty, but it was a great show. They played almost one song off of each of their albums and all of "Moving Pictures". They played 2 songs off their upcoming CD, and played a reggae opening to "Working Man".

There is another concert on Wednesday but that is also a sold out show. :(

Thinking of getting a ticket to their show in September here in Virginia. I hate the venue they're playing at (you're lucky you get to see them someplace awesome like Red Rocks), but I might have to suck it up and go anyway... I last saw them back in 2002 and have been really wanting to see them again.

Ticketbastard has a few seats left, but I think I'm going to start cruising ebay and CL to see if I can find something better. Should have paid attention when they first went on sale, but oh well.

They are one of the best bands on the planet. Alex broke a guitar string on one of the first songs, a roadie ran another one out to him, Gedy and Neil just kept playing. No big deal. Most of the time Alex was playing several 6 string guitars, but he did play a 7 string on at least two songs and the 12 string. :)

Well, I'm going to go ahead and sum up the rest of the thread for you.

"Wow cool, I remember I saw them back in <some year> with <some band> playing a lot of stuff from Vapor Trails!"

"Oh, Rush...? Don't they have a girl for a lead singer?"

"Cool story bro."

"[quoting vapor trails comment earlier] oh vapor trails? that cd sucked...you should have heard them when they were promoting <whatever cd of theirs that is best>"

"[quoting above quote] whatever vapor trails is best IMO...insert witty dialog and comments here"

Rest of thread becomes shitting match on who can shit harder and longer in the other person's mouth. And BTW, I think Rush is phenomenal.

I saw them at Nissan Pavilion in VA for the Snakes and Arrows tour... best bet is to hop on CL, I found orchestra tix for half price because a guy couldn't go at the last minute. Stellar show even at their grandpa age.

They are working on a new CD? WTF. Caress of Steel will always be my favorite CD because that's what was out when I was young...

I must be getting way old.

I didn't even know there was a 7 string guitar.

I'll bet it was a great show and that's a great venue!

Just out of curiosity, what do you think normally happens in a concert when someone breaks a guitar string? I've never seen a band just stop playing because of that.
