runtime error 217 @ address on explorer.exe

I have recently started to get explorer.exe errors that starts with the message:

Application popup: Explorer.EXE - Application Error : The instruction at "0x7c94bf3f" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read".

Then follows by another dialog with the error:

runtime error 217 @ some address

All of the three addresses are different each time it happens and occur randomly. The errors occur only with explorer.exe. It has happened about 12 times in the last six days according to Event Viewer. All other programs and games such as BF2, COD2, etc... work/play perfectly fine without any of those errors. The entire shell closes and would automatically restarts after a few seconds. If it doesn't, I can just bring the Run box from Task Manager and type in explorer.exe. The computer then works as normal.

Only programs at startup are: NOD32 v2.71, Comodo Firewall, and Microsoft Desktop Search v3.0.
