Runs like a sweet machine, sounds like a small airplane

Hey guys,

I just got a CoolerMaster 922 HAF and put in a Xigmatek 1283 with Push/Pull configuration using 2 Scythe 3k Kaze's. This case has 200mm fans on the front and top, and a 120 tricool in the back.

This case is freaking loud It's not like I didn't expect this but I guess I didn't expect "this." It's louder than our server room at work (which only has 2 servers but still).

My question:

How can I control the fans to slow down when the machine is not at load or not in use?

I have tried speedfan but it won't control the fans. I also have tried my motherboards onboard Asus Q-Fan control and Fan Xpert software but nothing seems to be slowing down these fans at all.

I plan on purchasing a hardware fan controller but in the interim I am looking for some good fan control software.

Any suggestions?

JOe K.

P.S. I am able to get 3.6ghz on my q6600 with a voltage of v1.41 with the core temps maxing out at 55 and 60 respectively.

LOL.

I know what you mean: I've got 4 case fans, 2 GPU fans, 6 rad fans and I'm not using my RAM cooler (2 fans) since my decent RAM is being RMA'd.

My GPU fans are currently running at 100% and they dominate everything else in terms of noise (all the other fans are also at 100%; ambients are currently at 28C).

Thank you for global warming; we've had a heat wave for the last week or so in Oxfordshire (UK); my car reported outside temps of 29C (which is rare in the UK).

Same here, 3 case fans (120mm, 230mm, and 140mm) 5 rad fans (120mm) not to mention the PSU fan.....gave up on trying to control noise a long time ago, I just turn the music up a little louder.

That's okay, I was sitting here thinking that's probably a nice WC system you have there 6x 120mm.

Thanks.

We'll find out once my RAM comes back and I O/C this sucker.

Take the two 3000RPM fans off, put the tri-cool on your xigmatek. That should take care of quite a lot of the noise. 3000 rpm is ridiculous loud on a 120mm fan
