just wondering if I cranked my memory up to 2.8 volts so I can clock it higher will result in an explosion....?

I've got PC2700... I have to run it at 2.7 just to get it to run at 180MHz without having to set the timings too slow(I hate that).

Do you think 2.8 will fry it over time? I've got heat spreaders on it. :D

Anyone else running their mem at 2.8?

i think 2.8 is safe

a lot of manufacturers set the limit to around 2.8 w/o voiding warranty :)

i say go for it :)

Strangely enough, I've tried overvolting RAM before and never had any luck getting more stability by increasing the voltage.

I think I might be able to lower my timing down a bit. I'll give it a shot tonight.

I have always run my mem at 2.7 stick of crucial PC2100 @ 166 2.5,2,2,5 thne I also havea stick of PC2700 so that just get 2.7 anyways hehe. I had it at 2.8 for awhile but I tried 2.7 and it ran just as good so I'll stick with that. So anyways... try 2.8 I have heard many people use it. just don't go any highier.

My 2x512 or HyperX is running 215FSB with 2.9v. I have pretty good case cooling so I do not worry about it. My ram never feels that hot to the touch anyway.
