Dude drop the crucial ram, get some Geil or other PC3200 ram and drop the multiplier to 10 and raise the FSB to 200Mhz.

I have a Athlon 1700+ A chip, not even a B, which is Prob. what you have, and I have mine at 9 X 200Mhz on my Abit NF7-S.

Rock the 200Mhz FSB!!! 🙂

Its safe. Im on a rock solid 175mhz on my 2400. Some even go to 200 and more.
Athlons like the xp2500+ run at 166 standard.

Total mhz relates to watts used. Watts produce heat. If your internal clock stays the same your temp will too.

You might need some extra cooling on your chipset chip. Get another fan or two.....there goes your quit pc, but it will be faster 😉

crap forgot about the chipset lol , If the nforce chipset can take a proper 333 fsb chip it should be ok then ????

Im new to this overclocking i was just seeing what i could do without extra cooling...
