running XP on two HDDs in one PC?

Hi, i was recently ugrading parts from my mums pc when the PSU blew up on me. My mum needs to use her PC pretty soon but it will take a while for the new PSU to arrive.

Can I just put her IDE HDDs in my PC (complete with her OP system) and run them along side my SATA HDDS?
Will I be able to choose which OP system to boot from in setup? What Config will i have to run the HDDs in in terms of Slave, Master etc.

Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to provide assistance.

Are the two motherboards the same? If not, her OS will need to be updated to the drivers for the chipset on your motherboard. This may require significant changes to her OS.

It is quite possible that if you succeed to boot her OS, it will require re-activation. If it is an OEM XP, you may run into problems.

There was a thread on how to upgrade a motherboard without a fresh re-install. You need to have a look at that.
