Running wires for 5.1 speaker system

I just recently bought the Logitech z-5300 speakers, they are AWESOME! I was wondering how other people that own 5.1 speakers run their wires. I wanna attach the rear speakers on the wall behind me. I dont want the wires to show though. I was wondering what I can use to do this? I am looking for a cosmetic solution that will do the job and look good. some sort of strong masking tape that matches the colour of the wall maybe? Just wondering how other people do it.

Assuming you don't want to actually run them *through* the wall, there are a few options:

Find speaker cables that are close(r) to the color of your wall.

Paint them to match the wall.

Cover them with tape or those plastic cable cover/guard thingies (actual name is escaping me at the moment).

Deal with having some wires.

Run it along the edges of the wall as you would with TV cable or internet lines, just use some tacs or nails to keep them up every few feet. Then you could just paint it white to hide it, or not if it doesn't bother you that much.

Basically, I ran the wire from the right rear speaker and tied it to the left rear speaker wire and ran both wires down to the floor and tied them togeather once through along the wall and connected them to the subwoffer which is also on the floor.

I did this not for aethsetics but to reduce cable-clutter.

I dont think its really necessary to go through all the trouble of paininting etc they dont look THAT bad.

It doesn't look like they have attached cables to me, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong model?

Obviously, if the cables are integrated, you will have to paint them yourself, or cover them with something.

No they don't. The most confusing part I think is that some of the z-5500 sets have speaker wire and some have RCA connections, so you don't even know what you're getting until you open the box.

yea that would be nice! right now i've just run the wires along the walls with wire clips and it looks ugly I hate wires

nice, wide rug helps. It hides cables, deadens sound a bit and warms your feet at the same time, three in one...Btw. the best carpets are made by Persians. i.e. Iranias, and before someone links to audio wireless transmitters, have a look on some persian rugs here

I'm not sure if that will solve your problems. The speakers are still going to need to be powered from somewhere, so there's still going to be some type of wire running to each speaker. I want to see the device so I can see what it's actually doing.
