Running Server 2000 w/ Exchange

I would like to use an old server 2000 box with exchange for email, but want to have the website of the company at another server. Is this a problem or do I have to have my website on the same box as exchange?

Use another server. I would not put an Exchange server and a web server on the same physical box.

I don't want the web server in house at all, much less on the exchange server.

Oh, I think I see what you are asking. Are you concerned because you'll have a company web site at "mycompany.com" on one server, and your email "xxxxx@mycompany.com" on a different server?

That's no problem at all. That's what "A" records and "MX" records on your public DNS server are for. The MX (mail exchanger) record tells where the mail server is located, which can be a completely different location than the company's web site.
