Running PC3200 DDR in an ECS K7S5A which only supports PC2700 DDR?

Yeah, I know from the subject this sounds crazy, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I was already planning on building a new PC which would include 1GB of RAM (2 x Crucial 512MB DDR400 PC3200 Memory).
However, whilst working on my existing PC the other day (installing 2 new HDDs) I somehow managed to kill the existing memory sticks. God knows how ? carelessness, static, pure evil or a divine force sent to piss me off?!

Anyways, the motherboard in my existing PC is an ECS K7S5A. It only supports up to PC2700, and the RAM it had on it was 512MB of PC2100. I can?t afford at the moment to buy 2 new sticks of PC2100 and then later buy 2 sticks of PC3200 (yes, I?m strapped for cash atm!). I?ve managed to run RAM at lower speeds before, but if I purchased 2 sticks of PC3200 RAM and run them in my current motherboard what is the likelihood of it working? Is this pushing it too far?

TIA for your advice people!

The PC3200 will just simply run at 333mhz, which is the MAX for this board. I don't see the point in investing any more money on PC2100 or PC2700 right now.
