I've found myself having to move files over to storage shared on my network. My current uses for the laptop involve parking a lot of files, and games take up space regardless of how often they're played. The laptop has an Intel 600P 256GB nvme. If I put in a 1TB nvme from adata or wd or the like, what models wouldn't require over provisioning (giving me best space) and provide the same or better performance than the stock ssd?

All modern drives automatically handle the over-provisioning by using free space.

There's no need to manually set space aside for that.

Pretty much any 1TB drive like the HP EX920 / EX950, WD Black SN750, MyDigitalDiscount BPX PRO, ADATA SX8200 PRO, Samsung 970 EVO Plus, Corsair MP510 would all be great choices for your use.

You're also going to get a big bump in performance simply from moving to a larger SSD than a 256 GB (500GB and up are faster than the lower capacity drives).
