running out of memory???

i have problems in games and applications where i run out of video memory. games and applications give me errors about being out of memory. i have a geforce 3 ti 200 128 mb card. and im getting memory errors in quake 3 that doesnt soud right to me since my geofrce 2 mx had no problem. well here are my system specs

t-bird 1 ghz
256 mb ram
asus a7v 133
geforce 3 ti 200 128 mb

I think it means you are running out of virtual memory. Anways what OS are you using?

I think it might be related to your AGP aperture size (set in the BIOS). Since you have 128MB of RAM on your video card, I believe you should set your AGP aperture size in the BIOS to at least 128MB. It's probably at 32MB or 64 MB right now. Typically you set the amount to half of your system RAM size. That should solve the problem.

If that does not solve the problem, then you might need to get more RAM for your machine; the 128MB on the card might demand that you have additional system memory to keep it fed (512MB would be more than adequate :)).

thanks for your help guys i changed my AGP aperture to 128 and you were right it was set at 32. im not sure yet if that fixed it. and im runnin windows xp. ill check my vm next time it happens and if that is the problem how large do you suggest i set it at??
