Running Office 2000 on Win 7 PRO 64

Anyone run Office 2000 small business on Win 7 PRO 64 bit ??

I have read yay and nay on the web, thought I would ask before trying an install.

If you have it, I would give it a try. I have a feeling it wont work though, the installer will probably give you some kind of message about it not being compatible. But if it runs and installs then you'll probably be ok. I miss Office 2000, it pretty much went to crap after that. Well 2003 is not bad either, think it's actually after that where it went to crap.

I am not sure about compatibility, but http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd873564(v=office.12).aspx#section2 it appears updates are no longer available.
One workaround could be run Win 2K in a VM then install it there if you do not care about security/other updates.

Office 2000 works fine for me on Win7 64 bit Home and Pro.

I would run it inside a VM to guard against any unforeseen compatibility issues.
