I have a friend that is in the hospital at Yale New Haven (York St). He might be there for a month and his nights suck apparently (lonely and bored). So I was going to visit him frequently and tackle running on some new roads (to fight boredom).
From reading, it looks like staying near the Yale Campus is the way to go.
So, my plan is to park in the garage by Yale Hospital and do a run from there to Yale by staying on York Street. Then stick to the Yale campus immediate area. And go back to my car via York St or Park St.
I'm shooting for 3-4 miles on this run. Might build up to 5 miles as I learn the area.
Two basic questions. Is my plan a safe one? Are there areas to avoid at night? (I read that there were). It seems like I am generally going to be safe if I stay north of 95 and west of 91. Might want to modify this to say north of 34 also.
Thoughts!?!?!
