Running Logitech Z-560s as a 2.1 system

Has anyone done this? I'm looking for more of 2.1 system, since I'm tired of having cables running across my floor. I have the Z-560s now, and I don't know if they'll sound okay as a 2.1 system. They're in my college apartment, and I'm home for the summer, so I can't just try it out. Has anyone done this? Will it be okay, or should I go with something else?

If something else, what? Klipsch ProMedia 2.1? Other?

It should work. For a while my sister's Logitech Z-640s were functioning as a 2.1 system and it sounded like a 2.1 system should sound.

At a LAN party a couple days ago, the host had moved his computer down to the basement and only hooked up his subwoofer and center channel speaker on his Creative GigaWorks 6.1 (7.1?) system. That even sounded okay.

Save you money 2.1 will sound just fine. Only now instead of surround you will have stereo. I frequently change from 2.1 to 7.1 when I'm listening to music.

O_O

I used to use Pro Logic II for music...till I realized how bad it sounded. And all that lobing from Stereo Surround (x2/x3)...if it ain't multichannel, I would just stick to 2.1. (And if you want more speakers playing because its not loud enough...its time to get some more efficient speakers).
