Running laptop on AC power

Well, it charges it, and once charged, it no longer charges it. It's ... umm ... a property of the circuit it is in.

Been doing itfor 9 years on 5 different laptops - never had a battery problem. Periodically, run a battery calibration - maybe once a month.

Only had issues with older laptops which were heating ovens that would cook the battery. Newer Pentium M's don't have this problem at all.
