I have a Kyro 2 (Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MB) and I'm wondering if I can run it fanless. It has a small little orb type fan on it right now. Has anyone had any experience with this or heard of it?

Thanks.

Either way, i'd leave the orb on there. If you want to run it silent just unplug the fan. I wouldn't take off the whole HSF assembly though, it's going to need at least the passive sink on there.

its only got a passive sink now...

only active sink i've seen for a video card is that zalman heat pipe design...

i wouldn't classify the zalman heatsink as "active" cooling.

actually it might not be, but a fan and radiator design isn't either

a fan and radiator is more active than a big chunk of metal :)
