any idea.....what effect this would have on the computer?

would it slow things down a lot?

firefox is my browser of choice, but IE is better for a couple of specific apps....

I mainly use IE for banks and ticketing purposes. Rest of it is with FF. Doesn't seem to slow down my PC though, then again I don't run many tabs at the same time on FF.

The IETab extension will let you run Internet Explorer windows within Firefox for sites you choose.

an interesting question. I decided to put it to the test. On my system with XP-Pr0/SP3, it works OK. This screen shot shows FF and IE8 both open at the same web page getting the same info.

FF-IE

I just can't think of a rational reason to do it - but it can be done. :)
