Running fans in reverse?

Does anyone see any problems with running my fans in reverse.

That is the air would come in the back and out the front.

The reason i ask is because there is an AC duct that come out of the floor behind my computer and i wana hook it up to the back of my computer! muahahhah

i think so, but i mean b4 i had a filing cabinet on top of it and the room stayed cool. lol

i would say give it a try and let us know how it works. usually the fans in the front are low, getting, in theory the coolest air in the room and the exhaust fans are high, because hot air rises. i wonder how that would work because the fan would be blowing in and usually the gpu card is under it, so the bottom 1/2 of your case may not get the best effect...because the air will be pulled up by the psu and also out the front, lower. hell, i don't know just give a try and let us know

Dont even bother messing with the fans, just put the PC in front of the vent.

I've done this for some time now and it's kept it quite cool during the summer.

The PSU fan might put a dent in that plan. Unless of course you want to get a passive PSU

This second photo shows the side CPU duct that I have. Maby i can just run the vent to the SIDE?!?!?

The Air that comes out of that vent is FREAKING COLD!!!! heheh thats why i'm so tempted, but i'm worried about condensation.

Condensation is not an issue whatsoever. If you have a side fan blowing in, just make a duct going from the AC to the side of your PC.

Since your vent is on the ground (mine is in the wall), I'd suggest turning the case sideways, open-faced, straight on the vent. Although I imagine that would affect the temperature of your room.

oh yea, i forgot the side vent doesn't have a fan. I wonder if i really need one though because the output from the vent is pretty strong. so i'm thinkin if i just seal it really good it should be fine?

Yea, that should work, though it will be more for personal enjoyment than actual temperature drops.

You'd need to either remove the side and blow it directly onto your system, or cut a hole in the case and tube it that way for it to be moderatley effective.

Like I said, laying it down on top of it will more than likely give you the best temperature decrease.

Hi, You don't run the fans in reverse. Just take them out and turn them around. Much easier and always works. Luck, Jim
