You need to create a huge wall paper (total width and maximum height of the larger screen incase one is larger) that has both pictures in it. Then set it to tile mode in windows and you're all set. I'll drum up an concrete example in a bit.

I run dual monitors. In horizontal span mode I have it set to 2048x768. In Photoshop, I create a blank 2048x768 image and fill it with whatever. Two pics side by side at 1024x768 each is cool.

In the desktop settings, change the mode to "tile" after selecting the background. Now when you change to a single monitor or clone, it won't stretch the background, rather it will just show the left half.

Like Dream and Bull said. You have to make the desktop yourself.
I have dual, and I made a 2560 by 1024 image and threw in my own backgrounds.

Anyways, here is what I made:

Both images were actually higher quality and 2000+ each, so i resized them to make them sort of be centered on each 1280 by 1024 area. get me?

danny~!

Ultramon has a lot of neat features for multi monitor folks. A little on the pricy side but it'll allow you to use different images as your desktop as well.

whoa, when did they start charging for ultramon? I used to use that when I was running tripple CRT's about 3 years ago and it was freeware, I guess everyone's a capitolist anymore. If it is still the quality of software it used to be it is absolutely worth the $30 for anyone who uses mulitiple monitors.

UltraMon is worth the $30. The extended smart bar is great.

I use Ultramon, it's worth the money to me considering the extended smart taskbar alone increases productivity and usage. YMMV.
