The clips just broke on my CPU fan.

If I run this old cpu without a fan, will I fry the CPU?

Do you have experience if frying your PPGA celery without a fan?
How long do I haVe before it smokes?

clips on the FAN only or the entire heatsink?

if the fan only, see if you can rig up a case fan to blow over the heatsink....

if its the heatsink itself, and you are wanting to run it without the heatsink....dont do it lol
im sure there are only a few of the earlier cpus able to run without a fan....and even they needed heatsinks for the most part
ppga celleron is not one of them im sure

I used to run my old P3 866 with no HSF for a few hours at a time.. Mainly to see if it worked, not to sure if it did any harm or not. I wouldnt suggest doing this, but itll probably last quite a while, seeing how its a celly.. And from what I hear those dont die..
