What do I need to have the option to boot to multiple OSes that will surely have one case of Win XP pro? I thought of just running multiple HDs and using one of the hard switches out there. But I remember seeing a prog from Win 98 that allowed you to select which OS you'd like at a bootup prompt.

I'm thinking of getting Win 64bit to try out with my new X2 4200+, can anyone here talk me out of it?

Windows XP supports dual boot. So Either make a logical drive (Partition) on you current HDD with something like partition magic, or install another HDD with Windows XP 64 on it. You only get the option to dual boot if you install two OS's on the same HDD, with logical drives. Otherwise with two HDD's with an OS on each, you will have to switch the boot priority in the BIOS each time.

You will notice when you boot, just after POST?ing you will have the option to choose which OS to boot to, much like what you have seen before. If you edit the boot.ini, you can decrease the count down timer and change the default OS boot priority also.
