Hello Folks,

This is a question for AMD/KT133A experts and 133Mhz FSB
experts.

I've just tried to run my "L1-bridges-closed" Athlon Tbird 1Ghz
at 133 Mhz FSB on my MSI K7T Turbo Mobo. First, I patched the
BIOS with the beta one that allows any multiplier. Then,
I choosed x8 as multiplier, rebooted once to verify that
clock speed was @800Mhz, then turned off the computer,
changed the small jumper to switch the Mobo to 133 Mhz, and
finally turned the computer on again. Nothing appened (Complete
Black Screen).

I expected Tbird speed to be @8*133, so something very reliable
for my Tbird, which usually flies @13*100. So where did I went
wrong ???

"Your RAM has to be PC133. Other than that, I don't know. "

That is wrong. You *should* have PC133 for best results, but most PC100 will run at 133. If you've been running your memory at CAS2, try changing to CAS3.

Verify that the BIOS settings are correct, for +Mhz after the 33 jump. Try running at 7.5 * 133 at see if that works. Try clearing the CMOS battery as a last try.

Ummm, no. Very few will make that overclock, not even my Kingston PC100 ECC with RamSink will.

Well, of course I'm using PC133 RAM and CAS3. I was
already "running" my RAM at 133, since the chipset
permits to have 100Mhz for FSB and 133 for RAM.

Anyway, when going to FSB 133, should I also slow
my RAM to 100 ? Perhaps the RAM speed is based
on FSB Speed, so before I had RAM = 1.33*FSB,
and now I'm trying something like RAM=1.33*133 so
it fails... ?

Does anybody succeeded to run its "B" Tbird on
a 133Mhz FSB ?

Hmm..I've got two computers and both are currently running PC100 at 133 cas2. It's actually more unusual for good PC100 NOT to run at 133mhz.

Wow, guess I have some crappy RAM. I can't even get to the bios with it at 133 mhz. Same for my others. Oh well. Anyway, thats obviously not the problem, Anand's last article has the answer for ya. I'm surprised that so many motherboard manufactures would miss this. I wonder if they are going to revise them. Looks like you got some more soldering to do!
